This notice explains how Harmonic Futures Pty Ltd uses personal information for the Lens publication.

What we collect

If you subscribe, follow a Focus or send Lens a question, we collect your email address and the page or Focus involved. We also record a small set of actions, such as viewing a page, opening a source, sharing Lens or choosing to subscribe. We record these with an anonymous browser number, a session number, the referring page, a campaign name, the country provided by our hosting service and your browser language. Lens does not fingerprint your device, use advertising cookies, build an advertising profile or store the text you read.

Reader requests

If you ask Lens to magnify a question, we store your email, the question, any explanation or link you provide, and your attribution and contact choices. We use this material to assess the question, check evidence, ask for clarification and possibly publish it. Do not submit confidential information or private personal details.

Advertising

Lens may show clearly labelled advertising. We do not sell advertisers your email address or personal reading history. If you choose to visit an advertiser's website, that advertiser controls the information it collects there.

Why we use it

We use this information to provide Lens, send updates you requested, answer support requests, assess reader questions, protect the service, understand whether Lens is useful and meet our business and legal duties.

Service providers and locations

Cloudflare hosts Lens, its database and production network. Substack manages free Lens subscriptions and delivers new issues by email. These providers may process information in Australia, the United States and other countries where they operate.

How long we keep it and your choices

We keep subscription, Focus, reader-request and service records only for as long as we reasonably need them to provide Lens, send requested updates, assess questions, measure use, prevent fraud and meet legal duties. You can remove the anonymous Lens number by clearing this site's browser storage. To unsubscribe, use the link in a Lens email. To request access or correction, withdraw an unpublished request or ask a privacy question, email support@zakgov.com.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, but no online service can promise complete security.
